The (Golden) State of Pinot Gris!

Alsace, and its eastern neighbor Germany, harvest many classic grape varieties that have left an indelible mark on many of the planet’s other great wine regions. And so it is, along one of the more rugged and majestic landscapes to be found in the world, where great stands of gigantic, ancient redwoods hug the spectacular Pacific coastline.

Here, a propitious combination of rolling ocean fog and golden sunshine alternately sweeps across the landscape creating ideal conditions for certain, cool-climate varieties like Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris that continue to demonstrate their ability to express great character and complexity in the right soils and artisan hands far away from their native home!

Breggo, a world-class winery in the heart of California’s Anderson valley, crafts such wines – one of which is currently featured in Love The Wine You’re With.

Slave to the grape – worse fates there have been!
